HOW TO SPEND 3 DAYS IN REVELSTOKE AND MAKE THE MOST OF your stay.
Your Revelstoke getaway is bound to be fun, energizing, and packed with adventure. If you’re planning a long weekend or three day visit, this itinerary is the perfect blend of Revy’s adventure highlights. Hang on to your hats, this is going to be a jam packed getaway!
day one
Morning
Start your day off by grabbing a bite and a coffee at one of Revelstoke’s many cafes. You’re going to need a bit of sustenance before heading out for your day of activities.
Head to Wandering Wheels for a guided mountain bike tour, or if you’re confident that you can navigate a trail system and have your own bike, head out to Mount Macpherson to check out some of Revelstoke’s incredible trails. Flowdown is a locals’ favourite, offering 6 km of fun intermediate singletrack. For those who are newer to the sport, the Stimulus Trail is a great beginner loop through beautiful forest.
Afternoon
Book a trip with one of our rafting companies and take on the mighty Illecillewaet River. This river is fed by the Illecillewaet Glacier in Glacier National Park, and heads through Mount Revelstoke National Park before meeting the Columbia River in Revelstoke.
If the adrenaline rush of whitewater is a little too much for you, get out on Lake Revelstoke via SUP, canoe, or kayak, all available for rent in town. Lake Revelstoke is quiet and a fantastic place to explore. Duck into inlets and explore small creeks and waterfalls, follow the waterline along to empty beaches, and enjoy the serenity of a quiet mountain lake.
Apres
Enjoy takeaway beers from Rumpus Brewing Co. or head up to Mount Begbie Brewing for a sampler flight. Wander down Mackenzie Ave, check out Revelstoke’s shops and pick up any gear you need for future adventures. For dinner, grab a pizza at Nico’s Pizzeria or enjoy the back patio at The Village Idiot.
day two
Morning
In Revelstoke, we’re just a stone’s throw away from beautiful Mount Revelstoke National Park. You can drive almost to the top of Mount Revelstoke via the Meadows in the Sky Parkway (pictured). You’ll find viewpoints along the way; make sure you stop and take a photo, as these are some of the best views of town.
When you arrive at the top, park up and head out for a hike or trail run to Miller and Eva Lakes (about 7 km one way). These lakes are accessed by a well established trail that meanders through alpine meadows and Engelmann spruce. If you’re speedy, continue heading all the way to Jade Lakes (9.4 km one way) for even more alpine views.
Afternoon
No visit to Revelstoke would be complete without checking out our “Waterfall Trifecta”. All of these waterfalls are accessible by short walks and within a 35 minute radius of town.
Apres
Head to Monashee Spirits for a cocktail, and then have dinner at one of our many great restaurants. Try The Taco Club (don’t skip the margarita), The River City Pub, or for something with a bit of history, check out the Old School Eatery.
day three
Morning + Afternoon
At Revelstoke Mountain Resort, hiking, biking, and fantastic views are on the menu. The new 5620 trail is 5,620 vertical feet of fun, flowy mountain biking. It’s an intermediate trail, but it does require stamina! Rental bikes are available at the resort. If you want a little boost, all trails on the resort are e-bike friendly and e-bikes are also available for rent.
If you’re craving a bit more adrenaline, take the opportunity to paraglide from the top of Mount Mackenzie and get the perfect birds eye view over Revelstoke and the Selkirk and Monashee Mountains. Revelstoke Paragliding offers tandem flights to the valley bottom.
The new Play All Day Pass gives you access to the Pipe Mountain Coaster, axe throwing, the aerial adventure park, the gondola, hiking, and disc golf. Don’t miss the Pipe Mountain Coaster, an exhilarating ride on a mountain roller coaster. Take the locals’ challenge and try to ride the entire course without brakes! Revelstoke Mountain Resort has fantastic hiking trails. Try the Greely Trail, a 5.5 km trail to Greely Lake, nestled below the peak of Mount Mackenzie.
