The Land.
Hiking here isn’t about “conquering” or bagging peaks; it’s about experiencing and respecting the landscape on its terms. These mountains have their own rhythms, their own rules.
Approaching with a mindset of exploration rather than domination means listening to the land, recognizing its power, and treading lightly. Every hike is a partnership with nature, not a battle. When we explore with respect, we connect deeper, leaving the landscape as we found it, for the next hiker and for the land itself.
Accessible & inclusive
Revelstoke has hiking trails for a wide range of ability levels. Here is a breakdown of hiking areas and trails that our team recommends.

Easy Hikes
Pleasant hiking can be accessed from downtown along the Greenbelt. The valley bottom trails offer beautiful riverside scenery. The Revelstoke Forestry Museum's riverside walk is another great option. There are also great options in Mount Revelstoke National Park - try out Inspiration Woods for a magical rainforest experience.

Intermediate Hikes
There are 23 km of lift-accessed trails at Revelstoke Mountain Resort, all great options for the intermediate hiker. Mount Revelstoke National Park also offers intermediate hiking that begins at the summit of Mount Revelstoke. This allows for easier access to the alpine - without having to hike from the valley bottom.

Advanced Hikes
If you're willing to work for it, Revelstoke will reward you. Glacier National Park offers incredible hiking high into the alpine. Trailheads often begin at the valley bottom and end in the alpine, so plan for a day of steep inclines and incredible views. Check out trails such as Perley Rock Glacier or Hermit Meadows.

Expert Hikes
The Mount Begbie trail is steep but worth the effort; after several hours of hiking, you'll be rewarded with stunning glacier and mountain views. The true summit of the iconic Mount Begbie requires glacier travel and an exposed scramble.
Your Impact in Revelstoke.
Being epic on the trails isn’t about how far or fast you go, it’s about the respect you show along the way.
You are an example for others. Pack out your trash, and stick to designated trails to protect fragile habitats. Give wildlife the space they need, store food and waste so animals stay wild, clean your gear to stop invasive species from spreading, and choose low-impact transportation like carpooling to help keep these mountains as wild as they are today.
