The Tour Program

FIREWEED.

The first night promises an exciting journey through diverse films: "Cross Countries" showcases mountain biker Kilian Bron navigating challenging terrains in North America, "The Ascension Series: Morag Skelton" features Morag, a deaf climber from the UK, breaking barriers, and "School of Fish" explores the intersection of indigenous culture and salmon in Bristol Bay, Alaska. "Chronoception (Tour Edit)" takes you on a skiing expedition in Kyrgyzstan, "To Be Frank" captures the spirit of 73-year-old legend Frank Paine, and "Going Greenland" combines a renewable energy sailboat with an arctic ski expedition.

ARNICA.

Embark on a thrilling adventure during night two of the Banff Mountain Film Festival.

"How Did We Get Here?" showcases the unique ski crew, the Blondes, unraveling their friendship and skiing adventures.

"Still Alive" tells the extraordinary story of Klaas Willems, defying Cystic Fibrosis to become an accomplished climber.

"Sea to Sky Trail Series: Progression" explores the evolution of trail running, featuring runners tackling technical terrain on the iconic Twin Sisters.

"Slides on the Mountain" follows two brothers from the Lil’wat Nation skiing their sacred mountain, pushing themselves and their culture.

"Leaving A Tread" showcases mountain biker Israel Carrillo in Guanajuato, Mexico, highlighting the challenges of the sport.

"Eternal Flame" documents French BASE jumpers on the Nameless Tower in Pakistan, combining a breathtaking ascent with an exhilarating descent.

"After You’ve Gone" shares the story of Rachel Finn, a female fishing guide navigating life after loss.

Lastly, "Pioneers: Tandem XC Skiing" follows Joe Dubay and Chris as they pioneer tandem cross-country skiing after an unexpected disqualification.

"Fuego" captures Kilian Bron's exhilarating ride from the foot of the Fuego volcano to Barrio Chualluma in La Paz, culminating in a memorable encounter with the Cholitas Escaladoras.

"The Best Skier You’ve Never Heard Of" follows Adrien Grabinski's journey from a successful ski racing career to finding his true calling at the remote Shames Mountain in B.C.

"One Degree° #Peru" documents Armelle Courtois and Martin Thomas attempting to break the kitesurfing altitude record while raising awareness about melting glaciers.

"Subterranean (Tour Edit)" showcases hobbyist cavers breaking records in Canada's longest and deepest caves.

"Mustafa Ceylan" tells the inspiring story of a young Turkish immigrant who discovers skiing, defying societal expectations.

"Driving Sweep" explores Katie Veteto's journey learning to "drive sweep" down Idaho's Middle Fork of the Salmon River.

"Range Rider" delves into the conflict between wolves and ranching communities in Washington State, highlighting range rider Daniel Curry's crucial role.

"Two Point Four" features Leo Houlding, his wife Jess, and their two children climbing Norway's national mountain via a challenging 2,000 ft big wall.

PAINTBRUSH.

"Desert Wings" showcases the little-known sport of paramotoring, unveiling dramatic desert landscapes in the American Southwest.

In "Soundscape," global adventure athlete Erik Weihenmayer, fully blind, ascends a massive alpine rock face in the Sierra Nevada.

"The Blackcountry Journal" explores the connection between skiing, jazz, and black culture as a skier's journey takes a transformative turn in L.A.

"Georgia Astle: Flip The Switch" follows freerider Georgia Astle exploring British Columbia's stunning landscapes.

"Canada Vertical (Tour Edit)" documents a remarkable wilderness expedition involving skiing, canoeing, and biking across challenging terrains.

"Leo & Chester" tells the story of a rock star who turns his back on the industry to live with a herd of buffalo.

"Earthside" captures the Arctic expedition of Hilaree Nelson, Emily Harrington, Christina Lustenberger, and Brette Harrington, celebrating their journey above the Arctic Circle.

"Near The River" focuses on aspiring safety kayakers in Livingstone, Zambia, facing the threat of the Batoka Gorge Hydroelectric Scheme.

"El Gavilán" unravels the mystique of a 900 ft limestone ship's prow in the Mexican desert, rediscovered by two adventurous Canadian women.
