Escape the crowds. It's worth the trip.
Revelstoke is nestled between the Selkirk and Monashee mountains, easily accessed by the Trans Canada Highway. Neither too remote nor too accessible, getting here is part of the adventure.
Be sure to consider the season and the weather when planning your trip. If you are planning a winter visit, consider taking the shuttle if you are unused to winter driving.
From spring 2021 to winter 2024, there will be highway construction on the Trans Canada Highway between Calgary and Revelstoke in the Kicking Horse Canyon. To learn more about the project, head to GetIntoBC.com.
We recommend flying to Kelowna International Airport (YLW). From Kelowna, it’s a 2.5 hour drive or shuttle ride to Revelstoke. Car rentals and shuttles are available at the Kelowna airport.
Getting to Revelstoke from the east takes you through the dramatic peaks of Roger’s Pass on Highway #1. Coming from the west, you pass through the scenic Okanagan Valley. There’s easy access from both the east and west, and also well-maintained highways linking the city of Kelowna, 2.5 hours to the south. Budget for extra driving time in the winter, and book ahead to get winter tires on your rental vehicle. Check Drive BC for road conditions.
