DRIVING

Consider the weather when planning your trip. The drive to Revelstoke from all major cities routes you through high mountain passes where snow and ice may affect conditions. Thus, winter tires are mandatory. If renting a vehicle, please let them know this.

SHUTTLES

Let someone else do the driving. Book one of the multiple daily shuttle bus transfers from Kelowna International Airport to Revelstoke via the Airport Shuttle.

FLYING

We recommend flying to Kelowna International Airport (YLW). From Kelowna, it’s a 2.5-hour drive or shuttle ride to Revelstoke. Car rentals and shuttles are available at the Kelowna airport. Private shuttle transfers are available through Revelstoke Transfers.

When you can, contact the owner directly rather than using a third-party booking platform. This allows more money to stay in our local economy!

MOTELS & INNS

There are a number of motels and inn's in the Revelstoke area, several of them are positioned along the Trans Canada Highway, while others are situated right in the heart of the downtown area, ensuring convenient access to local amenities. Certain motels in Revelstoke feature full-service restaurants and licensed facilities on-site, and a few even provide the added comfort of private hot tubs.

A RAINFOREST ZONE

Revelstoke might not be the first place that springs to mind when you think of rainforests, but we’re actually in the middle of the world’s only inland temperate rainforest. For this reason, we get a lot of snow.

TEMPERATURE

Expect average temperatures around -5 celcius in the winter, with the occasional colder spells. Due to complex variations in regional topography throughout the Columbia Mountains, weather conditions change daily.

SNOWFALL

The short answer? A lot. 

The long answer depends on the snow year. On average, Revelstoke receives 10.5m (over 34 feet) annually. That average will vary slightly depending on where you are skiing, whether you're skiing the resort, nearby cat and heli-skiing operations, or backcountry touring.
