Revelstoke Welcome Week is a week filled with events aimed at connecting the community and acquainting everyone in the Revelstoke culture. The week is filled with free or low-cost events; it’s an opportunity to explore town, businesses, events, facilities, and services, share our passion, and inspire newcomers to get involved.

- November 24-November 30th, the shuttle will be free thanks to Revelstoke Mountain Resort and Tourism Revelstoke.
- From December 1 onwards, the shuttle will be $2 per ride thanks to a partnership between BC Transit, The City of Revelstoke, and Revelstoke Mountain Resort.

Our annual kickoff to our holiday shopping season, Moonlight Madness, is back for the 42nd year! Grab a warm drink, wander around town, into all the amazing shops and take advantage of the late-night deals that are offered for this day.
Enjoy free drop-in yoga class at Balu Yoga & Wellness taught by Jamie Marshall & Felicia Nardella. Learn foundational acroyoga poses and challenge your existing practice, build trust and connection while re-kindling a sense of playfulness and creativity. All levels and abilities are welcome. No partner or previous experience required (just curiosity). This class is drop-in only, so come early to ensure your spot. Mat rental fees may apply so bring your own if you have one.

Come get your skis or board waxed and get a bowl of chilli for $15. This is an excellent way to socialize, support the club and kick off the season. All proceeds go towards supporting youth ridership and youth who need help accessing gear, passes and equipment.

Chuck Copenace is an Ojibway jazz musician based out of Winnipeg MB. He shares his story of recovery, spiritual awakening and how traditional ceremony changed his musical outlook. He is one of a very elite group of indigenous musicians who honor their traditional melodies by incorporating them into his work. He has performed across Canada, parts of the USA and in Central America, and featured on numerous television appearances. Chuck has extensive festival experience that includes performances at Winnipeg, Montreal, Saskatchewan, Vancouver and Victoria’s jazz festivals.

Following up last spring’s She Touring event, this ski touring and splitboarding social will help ladies, queer, and non-binary folks in Revelstoke meet up with potential touring partners in the front-country.
Event facilitators and ski touring enthusiasts Kata Polano and Jade Berrill will prepare activities for mingling, including a “speed dating meets bingo” game to kick things off. Revelstoke Search and Rescue and BC Adventuresmart, CAPOW, Mountain Muskox and Girls Do Ski will also present short TEDStyle Informative Talks.
Check back to this event page for a form to fill out prior to the event if you have the time, and you are also invited to bring your favourite ski touring snack, lucky charm, or a conversation piece. No preregistration is required and there is no cost to attend, although we would encourage participants to be members of the Alpine Club of Canada – Columbia Mountains Section. See you there!

Gain valuable insight from Keystone Health into what common aches and pains are associated with long days in the backcountry, and practice strengthening exercises and techniques to help avoid them. This interactive workshop will be led by a local practitioners with firsthand experience in the backcountry who will be presenting a variety of activity-specific strength and mobility exercises. You’ll then get the opportunity to practice the exercises under their supervision, so come prepared by dressing in gym clothes. Preregistration is not required.

Join Balu Yoga & Wellness for a free, drop-in yoga class. This class is suitable for both beginners and more experienced practitioners, and will help strengthen and stretch both mind & body. Expect to flow from posture to posture and to learn basic alignment techniques and skills. Class may include some meditation, breathing exercises (pranayama), sun salutations and flow movement through yoga postures (known as asana’s). Staying Alive Night is an evening of presentations from organizations and professionals who are involved in winter backcountry travel. Avalanche Canada, Revelstoke Mountain Resort Ski Patrol, Revelstoke Search & Rescue, Parks Canada, and the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club will all present facets of staying safe so you can enjoy winter in Revelstoke to its fullest extent. There will also be a presentation from a pro rider. A tradeshow precedes the presentations with local retailers showcasing their goods that will facilitate both your fun and your safety this winter. There are prizes! Including a free AST 1 course. The event is free and open to anyone.

Join Keystone Health’s experienced practitioners for an interactive workshop to help you prepare your body to minimize injuries from skiing and riding. Pro Tip #1: Stomp the landing. Pro Trip #2: Don’t let the landing stop you. Join us for an evening of discussion of injuries commonly associated with skiing and snowboarding. Come in workout attire as we discuss these injuries and actively instruct you on what exercises can help you avoid them. Registration is not required.

A short film that explores queer identity in mountain towns and snow sports. Director Ryan Collins explores the implications of being a gay man in Revelstoke, BC, while seeking to frame a larger picture of queer life in a mountain small-town. The film follows Ryan as he connects with the queer community of Revelstoke, seeking their opinions and stories and relationship with mountain culture, in the hope of building perspective into what it is like to be queer in mountain towns.
Join us for this special community screening, including a panel discussion featuring film participants and local queer voices. All profits will go towards Open Mountain’s winter programs for youth and QTBIPOC skiers and snowboarders.
