Bioblitz Plant ID on the Greenbelt

Join the Illecillewaet Greenbelt Society to identify wildflowers using technology you’re already carrying and contribute to a global scientific database. During the program, participants will walk along a portion of the Greenbelt (less than 1km total) and learn about local native biodiversity, invasive species, and plant identification tips that contribute to an international database that tracks the growth and spread of different species. Participants should be prepared with walking shoes, iNaturalist or Seek (great for kids) free apps downloaded onto their device, water, and sun protection. This event is suitable for families and people of all ages, and participants should meet at the Worker’s Memorial (stone arch) near the baseball diamonds at Centennial Park.
