Peaceful, relaxing outdoor activities in Revelstoke
There are lots of calming, scenic activities around Revelstoke that won't require you to start your Strava, make king/queen of the mountain, or break a sweat.
The following recommendations are on the unceded, traditional territory of the Sinixt, the Secwépemc, the Sylix, and the Ktunaxa.
1. Walk The Illecillewaet Greenbelt

The Illecillewaet Greenbelt is the nearest spot to downtown Revelstoke for walks along the Columbia River. Stay on the paved multi-purpose path or venture toward the river. These trails are used by walkers, runners, dog walkers, gravel bikers, nordic skiers, fat bikers, and snowshoers.
Getting there: Begin your walk at Centennial Park Greenway, Kovach Park, or the Illecillewaet Bridge. All have available parking lots. Access the Columbia River flats* using the pedestrian footbridge over the Illecillewaet River. All of the recreational trails can be found on Trailforks.com.
*Water levels rapidly changing in the area.
2. Blanket Creek Provincial Park

Sutherland Falls is located within Blanket Creek, easily accessed by a flat path from the parking lot. Please stay on the trail to preserve the healthy forest ecosystem.
The park itself contains a man-made swimming lagoon, a playground, a historic homestead site, and picnic tables. A dog beach can be found a 10-minute walk down the reservoir.
Getting there: 15-minute drive, 25 km south of Revelstoke on Hwy 23
3. Chill At Marth Creek
April - October | Scenic Drive & Water Access
Above the impressive Revelstoke Dam on Highway 23 North, the lake is a favourite hang-out spot. Marth Creek Provincial Park gives the public access to the lake via boat launch and public beach. It's a great spot for a picnic, to lie out in the sun, or take a swim. It's also a great spot for paddle boarding and canoeing.
Getting There: 20 minute drive on Highway 23N. No cell reception or fuel once you are past the dam, plan accordingly.
4. SUP from 5 Mile Boat Launch
June - September | Hidden Waterfalls
Just above the Revelstoke Dam is a small public boat launch that is a hot spot for stand-up paddle boarding and canoeing. Paddle up the lake and find hidden waterfalls, you may even see climbers just above the water on the impressive multi-pitch Waterworld wall.
Getting There: 10 minute drive on Highway 23N. No cell reception or fuel once you are past the dam, plan accordingly.
