Revelstoke's largest body of water.
Lake Revelstoke might just be one of Revelstoke’s best surprises. Above the impressive Revelstoke Dam on Highway 23 North, the lake is a favourite hang-out in the summer heat. Surrounded by stunning 360 mountain views, it’s an ideal spot for water sports, camping, and other outdoor activities.

Explore the “road to nowhere”, the abandoned highway next to the shoreline, drive to the Mica Dam, then head back to relax on the beaches.
Stop at Waterworld viewpoint for a short hike on the climber's access trail to a viewpoint that overlooks the south end of Lake Revelstoke. Please note that this is not a child-friendly area as no barricades are at the edge.

Stand Up Paddleboarding.
Stand-up paddleboards are a fun way to explore the lake and its magical shorelines. Boat launch access is available at 5 Mile, Martha Creek Provincial Park, Wadey Rec Site, and Carnes Creek Rec Site. If you're searching for the most calm waters, head towards Wadey or Carnes Creek which are located farther down Lake Revelstoke.
Canoeing & Kayaking.
The best way to see Lake Revelstoke is by water. The highway runs the length of the lake’s Eastern shore, but much of the Western shore is only accessible by water. Hop into your boat, or hire one from one of these providers, and explore the beautiful secret beaches or waterfalls that are inaccessible by land.
Hiking & Mountain Biking.
Above the lake is the magnificent Keystone Standard Basin, which makes for a fantastic mountain bike trip, hike, or trail run (if you’re feeling energetic). There’s also the Sale Mountain trails, including the Martha Creek downhill trail- a technical, steep trail, which ends at Martha Creek Provincial Park. Ideal for a cool-down swim!
Both Keystone Standard Basin and Martha Creek are expert-only trails. Backcountry skills and sufficient riding, running, or hiking skills are essential.
Camping.
Need a full RV hook-up, running water, and activities for the family? Try Martha Creek Provincial Park. This is one of the most popular campsites on the lake and can get busy, so try to book ahead of time.
Looking for something a little more rustic but still maintained? Try Carnes Creek Recreation Site a little further up the highway.
