Winter activities that aren't skiing

A half-day adventure out of Revelstoke, drive to the hot pools for a relaxing soak. You'll have to pass the Upper Arrow Lakes by the free BC Ferry - which is a cool experience on its own, you'll arrive at Halcyon Hot Springs.

Peak Axe Throwing is the only axe-throwing facility in Revelstoke, BC, located downtown beside Lordco Auto Parts. It offers a fun indoor activity but be sure to reserve ahead of time to secure your spot!

Thanks to a new restaurant in town, our bowling culture is alive and well again! Cantina Del Centro just opened in the spot formerly known as The Cabin - which has bowling lanes! Eat some tacos and book a lane to go five-pin bowling.

Learn about Revelstoke's rich industrial history at the Revelstoke Railway Museum. The museum features historic locomotives, artifacts, and exhibits. Bring some change for the kids and hop in the train simulator!

Next up, walk a couple blocks down to the Revelstoke Museum and Archives to explore two floors full of interactive exhibits such as the history of avalanches in Canada.

Maybe skis aren’t for you, but the call of the backcountry, fresh air, and epic views is still strong. Take a guided tour with Revelstoke Snowshoe Company at Revelstoke Mountain Resort with a Gondola bump included or rent a pair of snowshoes and wander the lower valley trails near Revelstoke.

Ok, we will admit, this might still be "skiing"... but it's a completely different experience to resort downhill-style skiing. The towering trees and expansive views are well worth the trip out to the club.
The Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club is located at Mt Macpherson and has 26km of groomed Nordic trails and 6km are floodlit for night use. You can rent equipment and a daily trail pass for under $40! Grab your friends (and your dog) and head on out!

Fancy something a little more high-octane? Great Canadian Tours is the only certified snowmobile guiding company in Revelstoke. They have sled tours for all ability levels, from family-friendly trail rides with epic views to tours that will have you shredding the backcountry pow!

Familiar with the area? Rent a sled from one of our many sled rental operators. Be sure to plan ahead, check avalanche conditions, and carry all the necessary gear for your day in the backcountry.

Revelstoke is pretty serious about biking and we don’t let the snow stop us! Rent fat bikes from Tantrum Ride Co and hit the trails out near the Columbia River. You won't be disappointed by the views, for sure!
