Five Hikes To Try This Spring

Where to go.

Before the snow melts in the alpine, there are still plenty of places to hike in the valley. Revelstoke is located in the world’s only inland temperate rainforest and our low-elevation trails offer the perfect forest bathing opportunity. Be prepared to encounter a little bit of mud and rain for an authentic rainforest experience. Please stick to the trails to avoid erosion and trail widening.

Inspiration Woods Trail.

2.5 km round trip | Easy | Pets allowed on leash

The aptly named Inspiration Woods trail is located in Mount Revelstoke National Park. Explore forests of cedar, hemlock, Douglas fir, and western white pine and be inspired by the varying shades of lush green. The trail ends in a loop, so turn around on the loop and head back to the trail’s start. Check the status of the trail before heading out!

4.4 round trip | Intermediate | Pets allowed off-leash if under control

Benefitting from its south-facing aspect, the Mount Cartier Lookout trail is one of the first hiking trails to melt out in the spring. It climbs approximately 220 meters from the valley bottom and ends in a beautiful viewpoint over Upper Arrow Lake and the Columbia River.
