Glacier Festival

Glacier Festival

The United Nations has named 2025 the International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation to highlight how important glaciers are for our climate. In Glacier and Mount Revelstoke national parks, this means focusing on how melting glaciers affect local wildlife, water supplies, and tourism and what those changes will look like in the future.

Glacier and Mount Revelstoke National Parks are part of the cryosphere, which is the part of the earth that includes all frozen water like glaciers, snow, and ice. The International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation celebrates these frozen landscapes and encourages everyone to help protect them for the future.
