Trail Running

Access paradise on your own two feet.

Revelstoke trail running options span short to long, river valley flats to alpine ridges, and a diversity of ecosystems in between, including the only inland temperate rain forest in the world.

We are lucky to have two national parks nearby, Mount Revelstoke National Park and Glacier National Park, offering Revelstoke trail running for any level, from short and (relatively) flat to long ridge walks and summits. Run to a mountain summit after a drive up the spectacular Meadows in the Sky Parkway. Visit in August when the sub alpine wildflower meadows explode into colour.

Sustainability

Trail running in Revelstoke means respecting the rugged terrain and keeping it pristine. Stick to marked trails to prevent erosion, pack out all your trash (yes, even that banana peel), and keep your distance from wildlife—this is their home. Avoid running on muddy trails right after rain to reduce damage, and invest in eco-friendly gear built to last. Supporting local businesses also keeps our community strong and sustainable. Every step should leave the trail as wild as you found it—let’s keep Revelstoke’s trails legendary.

Chill

The trails around the Illecillewaet Greenbelt are relatively flat and mellow, which is great for a shorter run or leg stretch. The Soren Sorensen Loop in Mount Revelstoke National Park offers a 2 or 5 km option of undulating running in a convenient loop.
