Scenic drives near Revelstoke take you through mountain passes, along glacier-fed lakes and rivers, and up to alpine meadows.

These routes are best driven when there is no longer snow on the ground. Roads leading into the alpine will be snow-covered & closed from October - May.

Meadows in the Sky Parkway

26 km one way

Drive up to the subalpine meadows at nearly 2,000 meters. The road winds through lush forest, with several pullouts for views over the Columbia Valley. At the summit, short trails lead to alpine wildflower meadows in summer and views of the Selkirk Range. Note: parkway opens in May and closes when snow flies in the alpine.

Highway 23N

135 km (one way)

Follow the Columbia River up past the Revelstoke Hydro Dam and view the spectacular Lake Revelstoke. The winding roads will share with you views of glacier-capped mountains, inland temperate rainforest, and finally the Mica Dam (if you choose to go that far).

Rogers Pass

75 km (one way)

Known as one of Canada’s most spectacular drives, this stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway leads through the heart of Glacier National Park. You’ll pass towering peaks, dense old-growth forest, and historic sites like the Rogers Pass Discovery Centre.

Upper Arrow Lakes

97 km (one way) + ferry

This route winds along the Upper Arrow Lake, with plenty of scenic pullouts to take in the water and mountain views. Cross Upper Arrow Lake on the free ferry, and continue along the lakeshore towards Nakusp for hot springs, forested trails, and lake views.

Three Valley Gap

20 km (one way)

Just a short drive from Revelstoke, Three Valley Gap offers steep canyon walls, a striking mountain lake, and the historic Ghost Town attraction. It’s an easy, scenic detour and a great spot for photos with dramatic mountain backdrops.

Sustainability

Revelstoke’s landscapes are fragile, so keep your scenic drives low-impact. Stick to designated roads, do not venture off-road, and minimize idling to reduce emissions. Use established pullouts to protect roadside vegetation and pack out all waste, keeping these views pristine for everyone. Drive respectfully to help preserve wildlife and keep our wild spaces wild.
