Paddle Responsibly

Make sure you are well-equipped before heading out. Don't hit the water without a PFD, throw bag, light, and spare paddle - at a minimum! Check out more boat safety tips from Boat Safe BC.

The Revelstoke Paddlesport Association promotes paddling in Revelstoke by providing programs and equipment, organizing events, promoting safe practices and developing and maintaining water access and infrastructure for the public.

Free kids PFDs are available to borrow at the 5-mile boat launch on Lake Revelstoke, courtesy of the Paddlesport Association!

Flatwater Areas

Lake Revelstoke

Lake Revelstoke, known for its calm waters and beautiful mountain views, has access points at Martha Creek Provincial Park and near the Revelstoke Dam.

Columbia River

The Columbia River is perfect for a peaceful paddle, offering views of wetlands and local wildlife. Start near Revelstoke Dam or the town's boat launch. Precautions should be taken, as there is a strong current and the water is extremely cold.

Upper Arrow Lake

Reachable from the Arrow Lakes Provincial Park or Eagle Bay Recreation Site, Upper Arrow Lake’s vast shoreline offers endless exploration with dramatic scenery.

Whitewater Areas

Illecillewaet River | Class I-IV

The Illi is known for consistent rapids with scenic views of Glacier National Park. It’s accessible from multiple points along the river, some of which are shared with commercial operators. The in-town section is a great introduction to whitewater run.

Farther sections up the Illi are located in Glacier National Park and a Parks Pass is mandatory.

Jordan River | II - IV

The Jordan has a very mellow class II section that is one of the most accessible whitewater stretches in town. The main section is steeper, and more technical with drops, boulders, and tight sections, best for experienced paddlers. There is a considerable time during the summer when the Jordan is blown out and too high.
