Exhibition Opening Celebration

Join us for the newest exhibition opening celebration. This month we will be enjoying exhibitions by solo artists Ariel Hill and Aimy Van der Linden, as well as a huge collaborative project titled Stories of the Forest. As always we will be celebrating with live music, drinks, treats, and friends. This month we’re also going to be joined by The Wandering Root food truck.

Photo Transfer Workshop

Starting April 28 this year, our gallery will be featuring the work of artist Claire Dibble. Join her in this workshop where she will provide a demonstration and hands-on experience with two different techniques for transferring small images, designs, and/or text for use on mixed media works of art.

Clay Sculpture: Make your own Dragon

Make your own dragon with local artist Oriana Rollo. This class is a fun, fantasy escape and an introduction to sculpting with clay. Made using oven bake clay your creatures will be ready for the oven once taken home so that they can last the test of time (like any good dragon should).

Pinch Pottery: Make your own Mug

Create your own pinch pot mug with local artist Britney Haddad. At the end of this two hour workshop participants will have created their very own ceramic mug. Whether you’re making your new favourite mug or a thoughtful handmade gift this is the perfect introduction to pottery, no experience necessary. What is a pinch pot mug? A pinch pot is a handmade ceramic piece that has been shaped by slowly pinching the edges of the clay.

Kids Clay Workshop: Build your own Mushroom

This is the perfect introduction to clay for the youngest artists in your family. In this hands on class students will make a set of three mushrooms modelled from reference images and finished with their choice of hanger. This short course is the perfect way to get outside and put a little creativity into your Saturday.

Anything Goes – Closing Night

Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre 320 Wilson St, Revevlstoke, British Columbia

Rather than an art exhibit opening, the annual Anything Goes event celebrates the closing of the auction with a closing night party in Revelstoke. Artists create 12 inch by 12 inch pieces to be sold with proceeds going to the society.

Learn the traditional art of Pysanka, Ukrainian Eggs, with Heidi Hermanski. In this workshop, students will use layers of beeswax and colourful dyes to create intricately patterned eggs in traditional Ukrainian folk designs.
