Snowshoeing in Revelstoke caters to a wide variety of age groups, fitness levels, and abilities. Book a guided tour with the Revelstoke Snowshoe Company, or rent a pair of your own at one of the local sports shops in town to choose your own adventure.

There are many trails around the Revelstoke Greenbelt, Mount Macpherson, in Mount Revelstoke National Park, or up at Rogers Pass in Glacier National Park. If you choose to travel in avalanche terrain, make sure to carry appropriate safety gear, and be aware of the conditions and risks (check the forecast at

Mount Revelstoke National Park: A blanket of white settles on Mount Revelstoke by mid-November each year, making the park a great destination for snowshoers. The Meadows in the Sky Parkway is ploughed to the entrance gate, and offers good snowshoeing opportunities with connections to the Inspiration Woods and Soren Sorensen 5 k trails. Visitors can also snowshoe up the Mount Revelstoke Trail from the Tournament of Champions trailhead in town to the Nels Nelsen Historic Area. The Soren Sorensen 2 k Trail, which starts at the Nels Nelsen Historic Area, offers great beginner snowshoeing. Please note that the Nels Nelsen Ski Jump itself is an avalanche area and is not open to the public in winter. The lower area of the Meadows in the Sky Parkway is rated as Simple avalanche terrain, and visitors should be alert for snow slumping from rock-cuts along the roadway. Grab a copy of the Revelstoke Hiking Map at the Revelstoke Visitor Information Centre. There is a great website that goes into fine details of every possibly hike available: Revelstoke Hiking – Online Trail Guide

Snowshoe rentals and guided snowshoe walks are now offered out of the Nels Nelsen Chalet at the base of Mount Revelstoke on Saturdays and Sundays.

On Mount Macpherson, try the Seven Bridges snowshoe trail.  It is 4.5 km of rolling terrain through forest and cutblocks. It roughly follows the Stimulus bike trail. For the full map of all trails in the Mount Macpherson area, download the Revelstoke Nordic Skiing Map.
