Craft Brewing / Distilleries

Come experience some of the best beer in BC.

Our local brewery, Mount Begbie Brewingwas founded by Bart and Tracey Larson. Their love of beer and the quest for mountain living lured them to move to Revelstoke to create the brewery in 1996. Bart has a Phd in nuclear physics, but he prefers to make beer not war, right here in Revelstoke. And Bart hasn’t let all that education stop him from making great beer. In fact, he’s managed to combine his scientific background with an artistic, if somewhat bohemian, flair for beer making to create award-winning Revelstoke craft beer. Mount Begbie Brewery offers the Real Revelstoke Flavour.

Mount Begbie Brewing has many accolades, including Gold in the Cream Ale category for their Begbie Cream Ale at the 2013 Canadian Brewing Awards. Their Tall Timber Ale was a Gold Medal Winner at the 2006 Canadian Brewing Awards and Bronze medal winner in 2007. A favourite among locals, the High Country Kolsch was a Gold Medal Winner at the 2011 and 2006 Canadian Brewing Awards and took 1st place at the 2012 BC Brewing Awards.

Once you’ve sampled what Mount Begbie Brewing has to offer, check out the brand new Craft Bierhaus. Recently winning a Kootenay Business Platinum award for  Best Places to Eat & Drink, the “haus” offers two dozen taps featuring craft beers from across B.C. and the U.S. Pacific Northwest and serves up a local, fresh and vibrant menu.
