Access paradise on your own two feet.
Revelstoke trail running options span short to long, river valley flats to alpine ridges, and a diversity of ecosystems in between, including the only inland temperate rain forest in the world. We are lucky to have two national parks close by, Mount Revelstoke National Park and Glacier National Park, offering Revelstoke trail running for any level, from short and (relatively) flat to long ridge walks and summits. Run to a mountain summit after a drive up the spectacular Meadows in the Sky Parkway. Visit in August when the sub alpine wildflower meadows explode into colour.
Beginner
The trails around the Illecillewaet Greenbelt are relatively flat and mellow, great for a shorter run or leg stretch. The Soren Sorensen Loop in Mount Revelstoke National Park offers a 2 km or 5 km option of undulating running in a convenient loop.
Intermediate
Head to the Mount Macpherson trails where you can connect various trails to make interesting loops with elevation gain and terrain changes. Alternatively, head to Mount Revelstoke National Park and take on Miller or Eva Lakes, about 12 km round trip.
Expert
If you're after a lung burner, Kill the Banker at Revelstoke Mountain Resort will give you what you're looking for. It is relentless and heads straight up the mountain. In Mount Revelstoke National Park, the Jade Lakes is a great choice for a longer run, just under 20 km round trip.
