Vibrant, historic downtown revelstoke.
Revelstoke’s downtown is charming and picturesque. The majority of our shops are small specialty retailers, and are locally-owned and operated. The shops and services echo the local sentiment of health, wellness, recreation and environmental sustainability. A walk through Revelstoke’s historic area showcases the pride residents take in maintaining the community since its revitalization.
Walk The Art alleries
A walkable open-air art gallery has transformed the streets and alleyways of downtown Revelstoke, illuminated all night. The public outdoor art movement began in 2019 and each year new art pieces are added around Luna Art Festival.
Visit Arts Revelstoke's online Art Alleries guide to find a map and artist profiles for each installation.
Grizzly Plaza
At the heart of Revelstoke's historic downtown, you will find the famous grizzly bear statues, underneath large maple trees that line the first block of Mackenzie Ave. The bandshell hosts 50+ free concerts in the summer months as well as an art installation during Luna Art Festival.
In the winter months, a walk amongst the maple-lined street is a must, as local non-profit Illuminate Revelstoke has lit up all the trees with lights.
Its all local
Visiting our downtown core is a direct way you can support our local economy in Revelstoke. A surprise to many is the lack of chain and commercial shops in Revelstoke's downtown core. It's a huge part of what makes Revelstoke so special. You will often find the local business owners working on the floor with their staff. Many of our restaurants, cafes, breweries, and distilleries source ingredients locally and make their food in-house.
