Spend a day on the lake or by a mountain stream.
There are over 200 rivers, creeks, and streams churning with freshwater fish around Revelstoke, all within 50 kms of town. If you want to snag some giant bull trout, you’ll want to be on Upper Arrow Lake, Lake Revelstoke, or Kinbasket Lake in early spring or late fall for open-water trolling. The bigger lakes have big fetches and can pick up strong winds, so be sure to keep an eye on the weather. In mid-summer and early fall (prime time!), fish for cutthroat and rainbow trout.
Know Before You Go.
All anglers must have a BC Recreational Freshwater Fishing License. Getting your license is super easy. Head to the British Columbia Ministry of Forest to register or renew.
Your Local Guides.
By far the best way to get out fishing is to hire a local guide; we have four tour-guiding businesses to choose from. They’ll get you to where the fish are and swear you to secrecy about their spots! Many of them grew up fishing along the Columbia River, exploring the streams, lakes, and rivers nearby.
