From the backwoods of British Columbia, Moontricks blends the mountain folklore of roots, blues, and bluegrass with their original electronic bass music.
Producer and DJ, NOG brings his hip- hop background and minimalist, deep woods bass to the group, along with his blues harmonica and keyboard. His partner, Sean Rodman, draws on his career as a folk artist and songwriter laying down smooth, soul guitar riffs, vocals, and high energy banjo picking.
Together, they’ve been packing dance floors at venues and festivals across Western Canada including four back to back performances at Shambhala Music Festival. Moontricks has releases on Westwood Recordings, Adapted, Really Good, and Smokey Crow Records and their collaboration with The Funk Hunters, “Lunar Smack”, reached the top 10 on Beatport’s glitch hop chart.
The group pushes to combine the boundaries between live and electronic music and deliver their signature sound and style to diverse audiences and listeners
