It’s exciting times over at Mt. Begbie Brewing Co. They were named the 2017 Canadian Craft Brewery of the Year, they won various medals for their beers and they moved into their brand new custom built space. To celebrate, we have a pairing menu to for the perfect beer to go with your Revelstoke adventure après!
The Begbie Cream Ale is an ideal after ski treat. In the words of the brewers it’s “a delicious, golden ale, delicately fruity, with a subtle honey flavour that finishes with a crisp hop edge”. It’s been around since 1996 and has won 3 gold medals at the Canadian brewing awards, so clearly they’re doing something right!
Pair with: a few hot laps of Hot Sauce
Tail Whip is a delicious lager that keeps it close to home. The barley is malted and grown in Northern BC, the hops come from just down the road in Malakwa and the water is pure Revelstoke mountain water. Perfect refreshment after a hard day on the trails.
Pair with: a day biking in the alpine on Frisby Ridge XC trail
Attila the Honey is a great choice after a day on the lake. Made with pure local honey, this beer is so delicious that just the smell of brewing it attracted a ‘bear-y’ special guest last year!
Pair with: a day paddleboarding on Lake Revelstoke
High Country Kölsch is a Gold Medal winner at the 2017 World Beer Awards and a 3 time gold winner at the Canadian Craft Brewing awards. It’s light, drinkable and a delicious way to end a day of adventures.
Pair with: a hike to Eva Lake at Mount Revelstoke
Après Nordic Ski
Try a Tall Timber after hitting the trails at Mt Macpherson. This dark ale is rich and creamy and great as a reward for all that effort you put in on the trails.
Pair with: a lap of the Mickey Olsen Loop
