The 5 best swimming spots in Revelstoke

Revelstoke's swimming holes.

Summers in Revelstoke can get hot, but fortunately, we have plenty of great spots to swim and cool down. Whether you’re into a refreshing cold dip or a leisurely swim, Revelstoke has water of varying temperatures. Some lakes are small and warm fairly quickly in the summer, some are glacier-fed and stay cool all summer long.

Williamson Lake.

Williamson Lake is the perfect spot for families to park up and spend a day. With a sandy beach, minigolf, picnic tables, a raft to swim to, a large dock, and boat rentals. If you’re camping in Revelstoke, Williamson Lake is a great spot. It’s within biking distance of downtown, consider forgoing the car ride and go for a pedal!

Martha Creek Provincial Park.

Martha Creek Provincial Park has a day-use area that is a perfect spot to take a cool, refreshing dip in Lake Revelstoke. The park is located 18 minutes from downtown Revelstoke and is out of cell service range.

The day-use area features one of Revelstoke's few beaches, picnic tables, pit toilets, and a field that is perfect for lawn games. The beach is coarse sand and pebbles, about 300 m long and flat.
If you're a downhill mountain biker, it's right at the bottom of the Martha Creek Trail, so advanced riders can bike straight down and jump in!

Wadey Recreation Site.

Wadey Recreation Site has a rocky beach with a boat launch and a day-use area, perfect for swimming approximately 20 minutes from downtown Revelstoke and is out of cell service.

Eva & Miller Lakes.

If you don’t mind hiking for your swim, Eva and Miller Lakes in Mount Revelstoke National Park are great little alpine lakes for swimming. The lakes are about a 2-3 hour hike each way, so you’ll work up a nice sweat before plunging in for a refreshing dip.

A Parks Canada pass is required to enter the national park. Bear spray strongly recommended when hiking in Revelstoke's backcountry.

Echo Lake.

Echo Lake is a great spot to enjoy warmer waters in a quiet, undeveloped setting. There's a trail around this small lake, so it's a great spot to park up with a book in a secluded setting and spend a day.

This lake is accessed by an active logging road, thus radios and 4x4 are required to travel safely.
