The Women’s Intro to Backpacking event is a one-day workshop held at Eagle Pass Lodge. Hosted by Hike Revelstoke, the event is designed to introduce the fundamentals of overnight backcountry travel in a supportive, women-focused environment.
Led by female ACMG-certified hiking guides, the workshop focuses on building practical knowledge and confidence through hands-on learning. Topics include gear selection, how to properly pack a backpack, trip planning, camp systems, backcountry safety, and Leave No Trace principles.
Set at the beautiful Eagle Pass Lodge, the workshop provides a comfortable and approachable space to learn without the physical demands of hiking, making it an ideal starting point for those who brand new to hiking and backpacking.
Open to anyone who identifies as a woman, the program fosters an inclusive and encouraging atmosphere, with an emphasis on skill-building, education, and community connection.
With support from Helly Hansen and Tourism Revelstoke, the workshop is offered completely free to improve accessibility and inspire more women to explore backpacking.
