History of Garlic Fest

After years of the Track Street Growers stewarding this community event, Sarah and Stu knew that they wanted to find a community organization that could continue to grow Garlic Fest into the festival they envisioned. In 2023 the Revelstoke Local Food Initiative (LFI) was pleased to take over the reins to create a fundraising event that would showcase our thriving local food system.

They continue to bring all the ingredients that have always made the Garlic Festival so special: an impressive local garlic harvest, live music, local craft sale, kid activities, food, and even a few wild games. The LFI works towards more vendors, offering more activities and bringing Revy the largest selection of Garlic yet, making it an event you really can’t miss!

Juno Award TOR & Murge - Boxing Day Bash

Traverse Revelstoke is proud to present a very special Boxing Day Bash with JUNO Award Winning artist TOR with Murge and local support, WEX. Tor is a JUNO Award winning music producer and DJ who has been releasing original music since 2011. "Oasis Sky" is Tor’s first original body of work since his 2016 album, "Blue Book". It expands on the latter’s meditative energy with the producer’s signature warmth and beat-driven atmospherics, while digging deeper into the experiences and emotions that have informed the past 4 years of his life. From a busy touring schedule that saw the Vancouver-based producer playing his music across the U.S., the E.U., Australia, and Costa Rica, as well as being sought out to produce remixes for Max Cooper, Fejká, Frameworks, and RÜFÜS DU SOL, the album only began to come into focus after slowing down, establishing roots, finding centre and introspection in a new living space. Since Oasis Sky's release it has gone on to accumulate over 26 million streams across platforms, been played on BBC Radio 1, Sirius XM Chill, and NPR, featured on CSI: Vegas, and won Electronic Album of the Year at the 2022 JUNO Awards. A sonic alchemist, Murge weaves the eclectic and the electric to create dancefloor-centric beats that fill the space and lift the crowd. Unorthodox sounds intertwine to create an expansive aural journey filled with fresh, earthy bass and neoteric instrumentals. Signed to Emancipator’s label Loci Records in 2020, Murge has had a rapid rise, winning accolades from peers and listeners alike and landing features on the biggest DSP editorial playlists. Collaborations with Emancipator, Parra for Cuva, Tor and Frameworks followed, along with support from heavyweights such as BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 and Sirius XM. No stranger to packed dance floors or epic stages, Murge has entranced crowds at some of North America’s most well respected electronic festivals, including BC’s own Bass Coast and Shambhala, and has toured extensively throughout the US. With collaboration and creativity in mind, Murge has worked with Talib Kweli and Blackalicious, and has featured on remixes for Tegan & Sara, alongside Four Tet, Toro Y Moi and Holy F**k. 2024 sees the release of his second album 'Gold & Bliss', a sublime collection of atmospheric new tracks designed to excite and elevate. WEX The guy you wish your daughter (or son) brought home. Not the dude-in-a-black-tshirt who showed up to head-bob. Believer in kind, fun D floors with space for everyone. Loves himself some strong female voices to layer on deep tech funk bass house.
