“Honouring the Gold Mountain Dreamers” examines a little known aspect of Canadian history, looking back at the century-plus since the passing of the 1923 Chinese Immigration Act - Canadian legislation that effectively banned immigration from China to Canada for nearly a quarter century. This book - focused on B.C. and Alberta  - addresses the impact of the Chinese Immigration Act, and how people navigated this challenging time.

Jacqueline Louie is a Calgary-based freelance writer. Her ancestors immigrated to  Canada in the late 1800s from southern China. Honouring the Gold Mountain Dreamers is her first book.
