Community Upcycling Festival
From May 25th to 26th join the Revelstoke community in celebrating the four 'R's': reduce, reuse, recycle, and repurpose. Shop local upcycled goods, learn to repair gear or goods, take part in free crafts, and more!
Saturday May 25
8AM - 1PM | Downtown on Second Street
Re-Fest takes over downtown with the Re-Craft upcycled goods market, hands-on crafts and repair cafes, a print-with-plants workshop, music, games and more!
- The Re-Craft Market: shop upcycled goods from creative local and regional vendors.
- Repair Cafe: Learn how to repair your outdoor gear, small household appliances and more with our helpful and handy volunteers.
- Hands-on Crafts: FREE walk-up activities. Learn a new skill around repairing and repurposing.
- Printing with Plants: Join natural dye artist Jaime Kraus to learn how to print with plants on an upcycled bandana or personal item. This workshop requires pre-registration.
7PM - 9PM | Downtown on Second Street
The ever-popular Trashion Show presented by Birch & Lace takes place Saturday evening, along with ice cream from the Sugar Shack and a film premiere from our friends at Patagonia.
- Trashion Show: presented by Birch & Lace. A fashion show where all the looks are made from trash that otherwise would have ended up in the dump. Come see how creative our community can be!
- Shitthropocene: Patagonia Film Screening. This film from Re-Fest sponsor Patagonia highlights our complicated relationship with consumption and the clothing industry.
Sunday May 26
9AM - 2PM | Community Centre, 600 Campbell Ave
Re-Fest continues on Sunday with bike, book, and clothes swaps, more activities, and the botanical dye bath.
- Bike Swap: presented by the Revelstoke Cycling Association. Come find your new ride and support the RCA.
- Book Swap: find your next pre-loved read
- Clothing Swap & Kids Clothing Swap: clean out your closet and find something new.
- CSRD Trunk Sale: A garage sale from your car! To register as a seller, please contact the CSRD – see our website for more info.
- Natural Dye Bath: Come dye an item with a variety of plants, sourced and inspired by local flora. Pre-registration is required.
