Edible Invasives Plant ID Walk
July 25 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
FreeLearn about wildflowers that can do more harm than good, and find ways to harvest and prepare them for food!
During this 1 hour walk, we will travel along the Illecillewaet Greenbelt Trails and identify invasive species along the way. We will learn about the invasive plant species that have taken root in this area and their impact on the local ecosystem. In addition, there will be pointers about which species can be eaten, and how to gather them without increasing the risk of their spread. This event is made possible through the work of The Columbia Shuswap Invasive Species Society (CSISS), a non-profit that works on educating and working to manage the spread of invasive species in our region.
