Revelstoke is an incredibly bike friendly town, so while you’re here park your car and get around on two wheels!
Our position next to the Columbia River means that you can access many sights and activities without grinding up any hills. However, if you want to challenge yourself, there are plenty of opportunities to break a sweat.
During Go By Bike Week, approximately 15% of Revelstokians ride their bikes to work, the highest percentage of riders by population anywhere in BC.
If you need to rent a bike while you’re here, Tantrum Ride Company, Skookum Cycle & Ski, and Wandering Wheels offer bikes equipped for riding in and around town.

For those who are willing to pedal (or those who have access to an e-bike), bring your camera and check out Revelstoke’s most iconic viewpoints.
First, head to the BC Interior Forestry Museum via Highway 23 North (watch for traffic). Check out the incredible views of the Revelstoke Dam and the Columbia River below and explore the exhibits.
Next, head back down Highway 23 towards town. If your bike is equipped for dirt, you can access Mount Revelstoke National Park via the Highway 23 North connector. If not, go the long way around back through town to access the Meadows in the Sky Parkway. Get your bike in gear for a slow, steady climb and ascend to the Monashee viewpoint, 8 kms from the start of the parkway. Take in the views and then turn around for the most fun part of your ride as you coast down the parkway.
Follow your hill climb with a ride down Airport Way, one of Revelstoke’s popular road biking routes. You’ll follow along the wetlands of the Columbia River. Look out for swans and other water birds in the ponds. Take in views of the Monashee Mountains across the water. If it’s a warm day, pack your swimsuit and stop in at Williamson Lake, one of Revelstoke’s most popular (and warmest!) swimming holes.
Take a right turn on Westerburg Road and follow alongside Revelstoke Mountain Resort on Camozzi Road. If you need to quench your thirst, the Rockford Bar & Grill offers one of the best patios in town. Carry on Camozzi to Nichol Road, and then coast back towards town on Airport Way. After the bridge over the Illecillewaet River, link up to the Greenbelt to cruise back to town via the scenic route.
