Life is busy. Finding a good time to take a break can be hard, but we all deserve a treat sometimes and Revelstoke is an ideal location for a little R&R, nestled in the mountains and beside the beautiful Columbia river, the pace of life here can be slowed down to allow for some well deserved self care. So take a weekend off, try out some of these ways to put your feet up, and recharge those batteries:
Try some yoga
Yoga is a great way to look after body, mind and soul, and in Revelstoke we’re spoiled for choices of where to practise. Check out Balu Yoga for a holistic approach to your wellbeing. They offer yoga classes, massage therapy on site, sound therapy and many other services. Try Welwinds Yoga and Therapeutic Spa for hot yoga, acupuncture, massages or (for the more adventurous yogi) stand up paddle board yoga. Or, for something to kick your yoga practise up a gear, head to Revelution– where the slogan is “get your asana in gear”! They offer pilates, barre and bootcamps alongside the yoga classes to raise your heart rate.
Go hiking at Begbie Falls
Maybe you’re looking to get into nature and let the outdoors soothe your soul? Try the hike to Begbie Falls. Nestled into the spectacular rainforest, the falls are particularly impressive in the spring, when the snow is melting, and the hike can be tailored in length by starting at the parking lot on Highway 23 S for a longer hike, or parking at the trail head on the Mount Begbie forest service road for a shorter trip.

Take a canoe trip up Carnes Creek
Just off of Highway 23 N, Carnes Creek is a great spot to get out onto the lake and away from the crowds. The creek winds away from Lake Revelstoke and into the mountains, where the glacier water meets the lake water. It’s a beautiful spot and often good for wildlife watching too! Keep your eyes peeled for eagles, ospreys, beavers and more as you paddle.
If you need a little more time out by the water, you can camp at the mouth of Carnes Creek and watch the sunset over the lake by your campfire.

Book onto a wellness retreat
Why not really get away from it all with a retreat? Try Sweet Skills mountain bike retreats at Sol Mountain Lodge. These women only camps are perfect for switching off and developing mountain bike skills. Start every day with yoga, ride until you’re weary and cap off the day with a cold drink amongst friends.
If you’re looking for a bit more variety in your weekend getaway, you could try a Flexpeditions break. They offer a women’s wellness weekend full of outdoor activities, inspirational speakers, foraging sessions, and meditations. The program is tailored towards taking the time to look after yourself and the activities are fitted to the needs of the group.
Eat at the Green Moustache Cafe
The newly opened Green Moustache Organic Cafe is a great place for a quick pick-me-up. Offering smoothies, juices and meals packed with nutrients, The Green Moustache is perfect for a little something tasty that is also good for you.
Chill out at Dose Coffee
Dose Coffee is home to delicious coffees, delectable treats, and an eclectic collection of toy dinosaurs. The ethos at Dose is that we all need to take time to let our inner child play, which makes it an ideal spot to take an hour for a little self care.
Get yourself a massage
A little massage can make you feel like a new woman, and Revelstoke has no shortage of places to go to get those aches and pains eased away. Try Feather and Stone at Revelstoke Mountain Resort for a little pampering with an ecologically friendly slant, or combine a massage with a full complement of beauty treatments at Repose Day Spa. You can even book a massage in a log cabin, away from the hustle of downtown with Boulder Mountain Massage Studio– the options are endless!
