CRED Talk – Bats in Revelstoke!

Bats in Revelstoke!

There’s a lot going on in Revelstoke about bats these days. Last spring, we teamed up with local biologist, Mandy Kellner, and hosted a bat box building workshop to help encourage bat populations to thrive.  If you were part of that project, please get in touch, we’d love to report on your findings.

The BC Community Bat Program is looking for public help in their assistance of monitoring the spread of White Nose Syndrome, a fungal disease responsible for the death of millions of bats.  If you’ve noticed bats in your neighbourhood (dead or alive), please submit your findings by email or by calling 1-855-922-2287 ext.20.

If that’s not enough batty goodness for you, then check out our upcoming CREDtalk: Discovering Endangered Bat Species in the Nakimu Cave System in Glacier National Park, BC.  That will be taking place on March 8th – 12pm, at the Rec Centre.
